Because of this the college will be closed to students on that day, as we are concerned that there will be inadequate cover to assure the safety of individuals. Please use this day to work from home using the college Moodle site or other resources as appropriate., Posted by P Garner

Jun 21 2011 2:20PM

Holy Cross - Top 10 College Once Again!

Holy Cross has confirmed itself once again as one of the Top Ten colleges in England for A Level results – for the SIXTH YEAR IN A ROW!! His work has very recently been recognised with him collecting the ‘Legend Award’ for outstanding leadership at the regional ‘Vinspired Awards’. Receiving this accolade means he will attend the national award ceremony taking place in March in London. (More can be found about the ‘Vinspired awards’ at www.vinspired.com/rewards/nationalawards.) Liam is also a key member of Bury Young Carers, which supports young people aged 8 to 18 who care for family members. He sits on Bury’s Youth Council and has recently championed the views of young carers on a visit to the European Parliament in Brussels.
Liam said: “I do this because I want to give something back to the people who have supported me. Getting the award was a real bonus and I was very surprised. It’s nice that people have recognised that I’m trying to be a good influence and make a difference.”
Liam recently organised a Christmas ball for young carers and their families, which took place in December at Radcliffe Masonic Hall, paying for the venue himself and is also currently planning to act as a carer during a trip to Lourdes in France.
