Every year, the College holds a special Christmas party for children with special needs, and celebrations of One World Week, various festivals and seasons, and annual leavers’ celebrations.
There are many occasions to celebrate at Holy Cross. As well as our extensive Enrichment programme, a key time is One World Week. This is a special week of activities in the autumn term where we celebrate diversity and take action to increase equality, justice and sustainability both locally and globally. Activities often include a food share where staff and students can sample foods from around the world, henna hand-painting and a multi-cultural party.
Other opportunities to take part in celebrations occur throughout the year such as hosting a Christmas party for local children with special educational needs and parties with local senior citizens groups.
We also celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight through selling Fairtrade goods, hamper raffle, free chocolate samples and a “Big Brew” coffee morning serving Fairtrade tea and coffee.
