Retreats & Assemblies

Retreats

Students and staff regularly have the opportunity to take part in residential retreats to Kintbury – a De La Salle retreat centre in Berkshire. Faith, fun and friendship makeup the “Kintbury experience.” It is a great time out and an opportunity to make new friends while working in groups. It is chance to chill out as well as look at your life and the important people in it. It is also a great way to experience God with others and grow spiritually.

There may also be other, different retreat opportunities available from time to time – contact the Chaplaincy team for the latest information.

Assemblies

Assemblies are an important part of the life of Holy Cross and give us the opportunity to come together as a community. Assemblies are student focused and we welcome contributions from all students. It is an ideal opportunity to share gifts and talents such as music and dance, or perhaps the behind the scenes help with IT or sound and lighting, or simply writing or reading a prayer or reflection. We have assemblies to mark key times of year in the Christian calendar such as Advent-Christmas and Lent-Easter as well as assemblies to celebrate our diversity such as One World Week. There is also an assembly to welcome you to the Holy Cross community and one to end our year. They are an important way to celebrate our shared values and vision at Holy Cross which all staff and students are involved in.
