Past Students Applying Through UCAS

Applying to university as a past student of Holy Cross is easy and straightforward.

1. Register with UCAS – www.ucas.com
2. On the initial UCAS question screen ‘How are you applying?’ Please select the 4th option – As An Individual
3. Complete all sections of UCAS Apply On the reference section of the form you will need to insert the following information –

   Organisation name: Holy Cross 6th Form
   College Address: Manchester Road, Bury, BL9 9BB
   Telephone number: 0161 762 4500
   Email address: llb@holycross.ac.uk
5. Click Save
6. Click Send Reference Request

A dedicated Senior Tutor is responsible for past student references and you will need to make contact with them via the email address above to inform them of your intention to request a reference. In your email, you should include the following information:

• When you left Holy Cross College.
• The degree course you are applying for.
• Brief information regarding what you have been doing since leaving Holy Cross College (EG, gap year, travel, employment, voluntary work and or work experience)
•  Information about re-marks or module re-sits.

All communication with college must be via email. Please note the Senior Tutor will not be in a position to give you the in depth support and advice that you received whilst at college. UCAS will notify you by email when the reference is completed and a red tick will be displayed next to reference section of your form. To ensure your form is processed in good time we advise you to make initial contact with the Senior Tutor responsible (llb@holycross.ac.uk ) via email as early as possible during the autumn term, but not before 1st September.

Applying For Student Finance

Once you have submitted your UCAS form you need to make an application for student finance. Visit www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance
