The formal proceedings on the night were preceded by performances by music and dance students from the college.

The special guest speaker for the evening was Professor Bart McGettrick from Liverpool Hope University who spoke on the unique Ethos of the College and presenting the certificates and prizes were the Provincial of the Daughters of the Cross Sister Veronica Hagen Chair of Governors Ann Fox and new Principal David Frost.

Mr Frost paid a special tribute to the Daughters of the Cross who first came to Bury 130 years ago and established a place of learning that evolved into the College we know today as one of the highest achieving in the country.

A special mention should also go to Marcus Webb who is one of five students at the college since 2002 who have been the highest achieving computing student in the country for their exam board. Marcus is now reading Computing with Mathematics at Oxford University.
