Overview

Working in the health and social care sector is extraordinarily rewarding, but it is also a demanding one where your skills will make all the difference to your clients.

Further study at university, an apprenticeship or stepping into employment are all open to you on successful completion of your studies. Whichever route you choose, this course provides a firm foundation on which to build your future.

This BTEC Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care involves both coursework and examination units.  You will study the following four units:

• Development through the Life Stages
• Supporting Individual Needs
• Working in Health and Social Care
• Physiological Disorders

Our students go on to study a wide range of higher education degree courses including Nursing, Midwifery, Teaching, Social work, Psychology, Counselling, Sociology and many others.

Entry Requirements:

General College entry requirements.

Grade 4 or above in GCSE English (essential).

Pass grade if you have studied L2 BTEC Health and Social Care.

Grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths (desirable).

Great subjects to partner Health & Social Care NQF BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate:

Psychology, Sociology, BTEC Level 3 Law, BTEC Applied Science, English, Biology and Physical Education all partner well with this course.
