Liverpool Hope University was our first partner and shares many features of our ethos. One of the university's major contributions to widening participation has been the establishment of the Network of Hope, which is a partnership with sixth form colleges whose missions are compatible with that of Liverpool Hope. The aim of the Network of Hope is to offer higher education courses to communities that would otherwise not have such a provision. Wherever you choose to study, the courses offered by Hope have the same characteristics: they focus on academic excellence and strongly support the pastoral needs and aspirations of the students.
Edge Hill University has been named University of the Year in the 10th Annual Times Higher Education (THE) Awards.
Holy Cross began its association with Edge Hill in 2008. Since then the partnership has grown from strength to strength. We share a strong commitment to widening participation and have a common interest in a wide range of community and international collaborations. The University is thriving and growing and is recognised regionally and nationally as a vibrant learning community and a centre of excellence in teaching and learning.
Newman University provides a wide range of degree courses at its campus in Birmingham and has recently joined in a partnership with Holy Cross to offer a BSc honours degree in Psychology with Applications. Once again there are strong links through our shared Catholic ethos. The University provides a student centred, challenging, yet supportive learning environment and enables students to be well-rounded graduates capable of making a difference in the world. Developing an open, enquiring mind, questioning and critical thinking, problem solving, initiative and independence are important skills developed by Newman students, in addition to the subject knowledge contained within their course.
St Mary's University College has a long distinguished history and degrees are conferred in the beautiful College Chapel or at Westminster Cathedral. Holy Cross and St Mary's have worked in partnership to provide a valuable professional development opportunity for leaders and aspiring leaders in Catholic schools and colleges. The modular MA programme was first offered at Holy Cross in 2005, attracting students from around the north west and beyond. The College shares a strong common Catholic ethos and the care and support for students is excellent.
