Laudato Si

Inspired by Pope Francis' encyclical letter ‘Laudato Si' we are responding to his call for an 'ecological conversion'.

Our Student Eco Group and Staff Eco Champions are leading the way in promoting a more sustainable and ecological future and extending their vision to the wider college community. Our outside space has seen many wonderful changes to improve our students and staff's connection with the outdoors but also improve the prevalence of wildlife on our campus. In response to the increasing sense of isolation that many people were experiencing during and following the pandemic, we created our own community garden called Kentigarden, named after one of the former Headteachers, Sister Mary Kentigern. The garden became a crucial place of respite as a safe, outdoor space during times of social distancing where staff and students could gather in a spirit of wellbeing designing and planting an array of flowers, shrubs and plants. Kentigarden has since blossomed into a beautiful space that is well used and maintained by staff and student volunteers.
