Enrolment: Our Excellence Programme

At Holy Cross we encourage ‘Excellence for All’.

We want all our students to make the most of the opportunities that will improve their confidence, employability skills and cultural capital.

Students who achieve an average GCSE score of 6.50 and above will be enrolled onto our Excellence Programme at Enrolment in August.

Joining the Excellence Programme means you would:

• Be encouraged to read, study and think about material outside the exam specification
• ​Receive help with selection tests for Medicine, Law, Maths etc. (which are set by some universities)
• Be supported in preparing for interviews
• Take part in subject extension groups, debates and discussions with like-minded students
• Take an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which helps develop excellent independent research skills
• Apply to participate in University Access Programmes

What happens next?

You don’t need to do anything before you join us – you will receive more information during Enrolment if you qualify for our Excellence Programme.

Reminder: Students who achieve an average GCSE score of 6.50 and above will be enrolled onto our Excellence Programme.

Average GCSE score = all GCSE grades added together then divided by the number of grades you receive.
