Bury Convent Grammar School Reunion

In July Holy Cross was proud to host a reunion for former pupils of Bury Convent Grammar School (the predecessor to Holy Cross College). There were ‘Old Girls’ who attended the school in the 1950s right up to those who saw the school transform into Holy Cross in 1979. Guests were welcomed with refreshments and some light entertainment from our current student choir which was followed by an address from our Principal, and former student, Carina Vitti as well as Chair of Governors, also former student, Helen Stainton. We were honoured to have one of the Daughters of the Cross, Sister Pat Ainsworth with us and guests were able to browse some artefacts and have guided tours of the college site. The event raised over £284 for the students attending the 2024 Lourdes pilgrimage and the humanitarian work being served in Ukraine by former student Wendy Warrington.
