Computer Science and IT Career Event

A huge thank you to our four guest speakers who gave talks to our Computer Science and IT students about careers within tech. The event was a great success and students thoroughly enjoyed the experience!  Our speakers were:

Imran Sawar, the lead designer for the hugely successful games Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption II, gave our students a comprehensive understanding of the gaming industry, which our students certainly could and did connect to. Imran has now started his own company employing 60 staff and is designing a game that will be in development for a further 3 years prior to being released, sharing a teaser trailer of this that had not been seen before the presentation. gta.fandom.com/wiki/Imran_Sarwar

Mudasser Ali started as a data analyst and has over 20 years industry experience working with the NHS. As our student’s study databases across both CS and IT was of real value for them to connect real experience to their current assignments and assessments. www.linkedin.com/in/mudasser-ali-a9460b12/?originalSubdomain=uk

Elliot Reid, an apprentice with the Bank of England, talked about this role and other career pathways. Elliot offered our students an amazing competition for a paid 6/8-week internship. Innovation competition | Bank of England

Claire McDonald came from ADA Technology College, informing our students of degree apprenticeships and how to progress to a role they want.  www.ada.ac.uk/ada-manchester
