University of Leeds Maths Taster Day

A huge thank you to the University of Leeds for hosting a great Maths taster day. The students were treated to a workshop on knot theory by Dr Elwin where they were able to classify different types of knots and describe them mathematically using polynomials. An historic lecture (originally by W. P. Milne) was recreated by Michael Sadler, “How often do curves meet?” on solving discrete maths problems by calculating intersection points between curves and circles. We were also given a tour of the campus by our guide for the day, Rob. A fantastic day was had by all.
