Anthony Nolan charity inspires students to become lifesavers

27th Apr 2026

One decision. One donor. One life changed.

Volunteers from the Anthony Nolan Trust visited our Core RE classes to share the inspiring work of their charity and to encourage students to consider becoming lifesavers through stem cell, blood and organ donation.

We’re also incredibly grateful to former Holy Cross student Lauren, who joined the sessions with her daughter Isla (2), sharing a powerful real-life story of the impact of stem cell donation.

Isla was diagnosed with aplastic anaemia in May last year and received a stem cell transplant in September. Since then, she has had more than 60 blood transfusions.

Hearing Isla’s story of how stem cell donation saves lives brought classroom learning to life and highlighted the very real, meaningful social impact behind these conversations.
