The safety and security of our students, staff and visitors is one of our highest priorities.
A number of enhancements have been made to the college entrance to make accessing the campus safer, more secure and more efficient for everyone.
We've introduced a new access control system at the front of college, including:
These improvements are designed to help us manage access to the campus while ensuring that students, staff and visitors can enter and leave the site safely throughout the day.
During the college day, students will use their college ID card to access campus through the new turnstiles at the main Manchester Road entrance.
Your ID card is now more important than ever, so please remember to bring it with you every day and wear it around your neck at all times while on campus.
There’s no need to scan your card when leaving the site as the turnstiles are free flowing to exit.
The gate next to the turnstiles is fitted with an intercom system and can be used by students who have forgotten their lanyard/ID badge or who require assistance accessing the site.
College staff will be able to help and provide access where appropriate.
To avoid having to wait for access to college through this gate, please remember to bring and wear your lanyard.
The pedestrian gate nearest the turnstiles will also be used by:
Please do not attempt to tailgate anyone using this gate and do not hold this gate open for others.
A second pedestrian gate, located away from the turnstiles and on the other side of the main vehicle gates, will mainly be used by staff for entry and exit.
Your college lanyard and ID card is your key to accessing campus quickly and easily.
To avoid delays, make sure you:
These improvements are part of our ongoing commitment to providing a safe, welcoming environment where students can focus on their studies and make the most of college life here at Holy Cross.
We appreciate everyone's support as we all get used to the new system.
