Liv completes the Macmillan Mighty Hike
Olivia Barber, Holy Cross Director of Sport, completed the Lake District Macmillan Mighty Hike in June, raising almost £1000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Liv and her team encountered torrential rain for the first 15 miles, and after part of the course being deemed too dangerous in the weather, a few more miles were added on to the final total.
Liv said: “Like too many people, my life has been affected by others who have suffered from cancer, so I wanted to raise some money to help Macmillan who have assisted my loved ones through some difficult times.
“I wanted to complete the Mighty Hike and to make it a bit more difficult, I was at a gig the night before and joined the start line after just three hours’ sleep. It was tough, but definitely not as tough as fighting cancer.”
